General Conference

what a Blessing to hear from these Prophets & Apostles

I am so excited for General Conference to happen again I am excited to hear from Prophets, apostles, and general authorities I know that they know what God wants to teach us, and this is how God teaches us through Prophets and general authorities. I know that just like in this video that as we go to General Conference with questions that those questions will be answered by the general authorities if we listen with the spirit. This is such a great Promise and I know that it is true because I have seen it happen in my life. I can't wait to hear what these general authorities have to teach us. I am excited to apply what these general authorities are saying to my life. This week (October 5 &6) are going to t be the best days of the month and probably year for me because I know that as I follow these peoples revelation that they have received that my life and my families lives are going to be blessed. I know that as the people who read this do these things that their lives will be blessed as well. 

General Conference

I am so great full for the opportunity to watch general conference this coming week (October 5 & ) I am so excited to hear from apostles and Prophets to lead and guide me in what I need to do to return and live with my Heavenly Father in the next life. I am so excited to hear what they have to say. I am excited to take notes, and listen to these people. I know that they have been called of God to teach us, just like the Prophets and apostles that are in the  Book of Mormon. I can't wait to watch it online and hear the words which the Lord has told the Prophets to speak to us.

I invite everyone to watch conference and take notes on the feelings that you get. I can promise that as you do that your lives will be blessed. Just like this video talks about how we listen with an open heart one of these Prophets or general authorities will touch you and answer your question(s) I invite everyone to pray about questions that you have and then watch conference, I know that as you listen that one of these General authorities will answer your question as you listen with an open heart.

How do we find answers to questions that we have?

I love this Mormon message, because it shows how God loves us. It talks about Joseph Smith's experience in finding out the truth for himself. I love the way this Mormon message explains this, because this is exactly how Joseph Smith felt. Joseph Smith was confused on which church to join, because there was no correct priesthood authority on the earth at the time, because after Jesus Christ and the apostles died they forgot to pass the authority down, so once when Jesus Christ and His apostles died there was no one to spread forth the gospel of Jesus Christ. When this happened people got confused on which church to join. Some people made their own church, and taught what they learned from the Bible, which some of it was correct, but they weren't getting the correct answers, because they were their own opinions not from God. Joseph Smith got caught up in what we call the Great Apostasy, which means when there was no Prophet on the earth leading and guiding the people on what to do. Joseph Smith went from church to church trying to find out the right church for himself, kind of like this girl in the video. Joseph Smith decided that he needed to find out the truth, so he decided to study the Bible, and in his studies he came across a verse in James 1:5 which reads if any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him. Joseph Smith prayed to God, in the woods. and he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith described this in his own words, he said, i saw a pillar of light exactly over my head above the brightness of the sun which descended gradually until it fell upon me. When the light rested upon me I saw 2 personages, standing above me in the air . One of the spake unto me, calling me by name  and said, pointing to the other this is my beloved son hear him. 

Joseph Smith found out that none of the churches where true, but would later be restored. Just like this girl was looking for the truth, she found it out the same way that Joseph Smith did, by prayer. I think our Heavenly Father is so loving to us. He lets us communicate with us through prayer. He gives us answers to. I am so grateful that our Heavenly Father loves me and everyone and He will answer our prayer. I know this to be true because He has answered my prayers through the Holy Ghost.

2. How did you feel when reading Joseph Smith's first vision?

3. How would it make you feel if God answered your prayer just like in this video and Joseph Smith's prayer?

Enjoying peace and hapiness

I love this Mormon message, because it talks a lot about the challenges that we face in this life. I love the way Elder Scott compares free rock climbing to falling into a trap. It is so true. satan is going to try and put us in a trap. We most likely will fall into that trap if we don't listen to the Holy Ghost. I think it is amazing that God would give us a gift called the Gift of the Holy Ghost. This gift is awesome. I received it after I got baptized a member of the  Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The Holy Ghost guides me in making right decisions. When I follow them my life will be blessed in making more right decisions. Just like 2 Nephi 32:5 says,  For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.  This is so true the Holy Ghost will direct us in the ways that we should go. As long as we follow the Holy Ghost the Holy Ghost will continue to bless us. I also love how this Mormon message makes reference to the atonement of Jesus Christ and how we need to go to Heavenly Father in prayer and use Jesus Christ atonement to be forgiven of these mistakes. I know that we all make mistakes, but I know that through repentance and baptism that we can be forgiven of our sins. Just like Jesus Christ was baptized, we need to follow Him and His example that we set for us. In 2 Nephi 31:10-12 it explains this;
  10 And he said unto the children of men: Follow thou me. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, can we follow Jesus save we shall be willing to keep the commandments of the Father?

  11 And the Father said: Repent ye, repent ye, and be baptized in the name of my Beloved Son.

  12 And also, the voice of the Son came unto me, saying: He that is baptized in my name, to him will the Father give the Holy Ghost, like unto me; wherefore, follow me, and do the things which ye have seen me do.

What a great example that Jesus Christ set for us, and I know that if we follow His example that our lives and our families lives will be blessed. Whether it be by making our families more closer to one another, Making our lives more in harmony with God's will and not ours, or even being more happy. There are many blessings that come from following the example of Jesus Christ and being baptized. 

I would invite everyone to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized by immersion. I know that as we are that again our lives will be blessed so much by making us and our families much more happier.

General conference

I am so great full that I got to listen to Prophets, apostles, and general authorities at conference this week. I am sad that conference is over, but I learned so much from listening to them. I learned a lot on my ten questions that I wrote down and wanted to have answered. They were answered. One of the questions that I had was what can I do to become a better missionary? I got a ton of answers from these general authroities when they were speaking. Some of them were listen to everyone (including investigators, recent converts & Members) I also know that we need to protect my investigators, recent converts, and members. I also found out that I need to listen to the Holy Ghost and this will help our me and the investigators. Another question that I had was how I can help my investigators? I came to the answer that I can help my investigators, but helping them repent of their sins. Also if I want to help them repent of their sins then I need to repent of my sins as well. I also learned that I can help investigators by teaching them to build their foundation like a rock, because when storms, floods, and winds come (satan's temptations) then they and I will have a strong foundation and satan will not be able to get to me. Another way that I can help my investigators is by bearing my testimony to them, because no one can take a way from my testimony, and it will always stick to their heart. Another thing about general conference that I loved is ElderNelson referred to his thought he gave the last general conference which was to "Ask the misssionaries."

Which is great, because it provides more investigators for the missionaries to teach (including those missionaries who take the Mormon.org chats) I invite all who have questions to come and ask us questons. Especially those individuals who are not members of the church but have questions to learn more about our church. If you are interested here is the link.
Another talk that I liked was PResident Monson's talk on how we need to be obedient not only to God, but also our parents. 

As I said before though I got a lot of my questions answered from this years general conference. Some of my favorite talks were Elder Jeffry R. Hollands talk. It talked a lot about how I need to love everyone and help everyone out. 

I would invite all who see this post to review the talks that were given and write down the impressions that you get. I can promise you that as you do and as you follow the councel given that your lives will be blessed. I am so great full for conference and it is sad it is over, but that just means tha tI have things to improve on and I can do that until the next general conference comes in 6 months. 

I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I know that God is our loving Heavenly Father. I know this from general conference. General authorities talked about it and I have seen it in my life. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he restored the  Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints back to the earth. I know that we have a living Prophet who leads and guides our church, and his name is President Thomas S. Monson. I know that God will bless us as we follow these Prophets teachings. I know that God will answer our prayers, and that again He loves us and wants us to do what is right. Again I invite everyone who reads this post to review the general conference talks.

Spiritual crocodiles 

 

President Boyd K. Packer

I love this Mormon message by President Packer. I learned a lot of things that relate to me and probably everyone who lives on this earth. There are a lot of events, people that represent things of the church. For example the crocodiles represent satan. The animals and the person who was on a tour of Africa represent us. The guide and the sign that guy read represent the Holy Ghost. Anyways. Let’s start off with the animals. The animals represent us. We are always going to face temptations from satan (the crocodiles) The crocodiles represent satan because satan is going to try and tempt us to do wrong things, and he is trying to get a hold of us just like the crocodiles got the animals, and that guy. We never know when satan (the crocodiles) are going to come, but satan is always there waiting for us to make one simple mistake, just like the crocodiles were there to wait for the animals get water, and not notice them crocodiles. Just like the crocodiles attached and got their food, satan is going to attach as soon as he gets us do to one small little sins. It all starts with something small and then it progresses, until satan has us.

 The sign and the guide represent the Holy Ghost. The sign told the man to not go over the fence because there are wild animals. The guy didn’t follow the advice that the sign (the Holy Ghost) gave him. The guide even came running toward him yelling COME BACK!!!  He represents the Holy Ghost as well because he told the guy advice. The guy kept on going, and the crocodile (satan) got to him. Satan is always going to get to us if we don’t follow the Holy Ghost, and what it tells us to do. When we do follow the Holy Ghost our lives are going to be blessed just like Alma 7:16-17 says.  16 And whosoever doeth this, and keepeth the commandments of God from thenceforth, the same will remember that I say unto him, yea, he will remember that I have said unto him, he shall have eternal life, according to the testimony of the Holy Spirit, which testifieth in me.17 And now my beloved brethren, do you believe these things? Behold, I say unto you, yea, I know that ye believe them; and the way that I know that ye believe them is by the manifestation of the Spirit which is in me. And now because your faith is strong concerning that, yea, concerning the things which I have spoken, great is my joy.(Alma 7:16-17) This scripture also says that God will have great joy.

Now we are all going to fall into satan’s traps that he sets for us,, but we can repent of anything bad that we have done. Just like Alma 7: 9 & 15 tell us 9 But behold, the Spirit hath said this much unto me, saying: Cry unto this people, saying—Repent ye, and prepare the way of the Lord, and walk in his paths, which are straight; for behold, the kingdom of heaven is at hand, and the Son of God cometh upon the face of the earth.  15 Yea, I say unto you come and fear not, and lay aside every sin, which easily doth beset you, which doth bind you down to destruction, yea, come and go forth, and show unto your God that ye are willing to repent of your sins and enter into a covenant with him to keep his commandments, and witness it unto him this day by going into the waters of baptism. (Alma 7: 9, 15) The reason that we can do this is because of the atonement of Jesus Christ. Just like it talks about in Alma 7:11-14 it says, 11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people. 12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities. 13 Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me. 14 Now I say unto you that ye must repent, and be born again; for the Spirit saith if ye are not born again ye cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye may be washed from your sins, that ye may have faith on the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, who is mighty to save and to cleanse from all unrighteousness. (Alma 7:11-14) 

 

  I am so great full for Jesus Christ and that He suffered for my sins and everyone sins, so that we could repent of any mistakes that we have made. I am also great full for Jesus Christ and that he died on the cross and was ressurected, so that we could return and live with our Heavenly Father in the next life.

I know that satan is going to tempt us to do wrong, but when we pray to God I know that He will help us out with whatever we need. I encourage all who read this to do this when going through a tria, when you are having a bad day, etc. Pray to God he is ready to listen, and God will be with you no matter what you do. (inset D&C 686:6) I know this because I have done this.

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Is true. I have read the Book of Mormon, and prayed about it to know if it was true. I got an answer from the Holy Ghost telling me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and the Book of Mormon is true. The Holy Ghost gave me a warm feeling in my heart and mind. I would encourage everyone to read the Book of Mormon. Here is a link where everyone  can readit.  It has brought me so much happiness in my life when I read the Book of Mormon. It also helps answer my prayers. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that Joseph Smith prayed to God and saw God and Jesus Christ.  I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. I also know that Joseph Smith restored the  Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints back to the earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the Prophet who leads and guides our church on the earth today. I know that Jesus Christ died for our sins, and that God and Jesus Christ  love me, and everyone. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ amen.
